ptna_20171130top.jpgPTNA announces the rules and regulations of the Grade Superior, the Grade G, and the GrandMuse (Amateur) divisions of the 2018 PTNA Piano Competition, prior to the full announcement on March 1st, 2018. There are several changes and renewals as below.

Regarding the Grade Superior, 1) the final round of the Grade Superior will be held at the Suntory Hall, one of the most renowned concert halls in the world. 2) A prerequite condition is added; one is qualified to apply for the Grade Superior if s/he had experienced the PTNA Piano Competition before. 3) The 3rd round will be newly added prior to the semi-final round (solo recital) and the final round (concerti). 10-13 participants will perform concerti with piano accompaniments. The repertoire will be the 1st movement or the 2nd and the 3rd movements of the concerto that s/he will play at the final round (draw lots and choose which movements to play). PTNA will arrange the accompanists and organize rehearsal sessions on the day before the 3rd round. 7 will be chosen to be the semi-finalists according to the total points, a sum of the 2nd and the 3rd round points as the ratio of 2:1.

Regarding the GrandMuse division, one will be able to apply for the 1st round for the purpose of "rehearsal". In this case, one may apply as much as possible, though s/he will not be entitled to proceed to the 2nd round (the reginal final round). Age limit, repertoires, application fees are same as the general participants.
