This year, PTNA Piano Competition launches a new category "piano concerto with 2 pianos" under the 2 piano division. There are two age groups for soloist part, under 18 and above 18 years old, and no age limit for the orchestral part. Participants can play together with pianists with rich experiences in ensemble, or with sufficient knowledge in orchestra and conducting.

The orientation meeting will be held on March 2nd, on the same day of the special seminar for the required repertoires. In the 1st part, Mari Takeda (Chair of the PTNA Media Committee, professor of Tokyo College of Music) will give the lecture on this new category, in regards of the musical difference between works for 2 pianos and piano concerto with 2 pianos, educational effect of 2 pianos, and demonstration lesson.  The 2nd part is a concert in which Kuni Seo & Shinichiro Kato (program will be announced), Rintaro Akamatsu & Nozomu Sugawara (Rachmaninoff's piano concerto No.2, 2 &3 movements>video) will each play piano concertos.

PTNA helps those who are looking for pianists for the orchestral part. Here is the list of collaborators, all of whom are professional pianists. One of the them, Noriko Sato (PTNA Gold prize winner in 2001), shows you a demonstration lesson.
