PTNA launches a new service "PTNA Piano Room Sharing" to do matchmaking between those who are looking for piano practicing rooms on rent and those who provide rooms. You could imagine "Airbnb" that connects travelers and landlords in the countries/cities they are visiting.

As the final round of PTNA Piano Competition will be held next week, a lot of finalists are expected to come to Tokyo, and they definitely need practicing rooms. In response to those potential needs, 40 PTNA members have already declared the offer on an hourly rental basis (1,000 yen per hour).

One of the members, Yoko Fujino (photo with Bösendorfer) and Mari Kouketsu once lived far away from Tokyo and thus understand the difficulty of finding good practicing rooms when they came and played in Tokyo. Miho Yamazaki also understands the tremendous efforts that finalists have made so far, and would like to help them prepare for their key stages by offering good practicing environment and mental support.

PTNA wants to extend this service to other musical purposes in the future. For instance, it can be used for those who need practicing and rehearing spaces for other competitions; for temporary lesson room for young piano teachers who do not have own fully-equipped studios; for those who do not have grand pianos; for a salon to share musical time with friends and neighbors of different age groups, etc.
