mamihagiwara.jpgMs.Mami Hagiwara (PTNA student member) won the 65th Geneva International Music Competition in November. This is the first time that Japanese pianist received the first prize.

She had studied with Ms.Motoko KOJIMA when she was a child and has won gold prizes at PTNA Piano Competition in grade C and D(1996, 1998). Later she began to study with prof.Jacques Rouvier at Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris.

Her former teacher, Ms.Kojima testifies her natural musical talent from her childhood.

Geneva International Music Competition is one of the most prestigious competitions that has produced artists like  Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli, Martha Argerich, etc. There were several prize winners from Japan such as Mr.Yusuke KIKUCHI (PTNA authorized member) who won the 3rd prize in 2006. This year Ms.Arisa SAKAI  (prize of excellence at Yasuko Fukuda Scholarship Audition 2005) proceeded to the semi-final round.
