Yasuko Fukuda Scholarship Audition Announced 9 Finalists

ptna_20170324top.jpgThe paper screening of the Yasuko Fukuda Scholarship Audition was held in March to select the 9 finalists out of 45 applicants. 9 young pianists will take lessons from 3 international jury members individually on August 23rd -24th, and will give 30-minute solo performance each at the final concert on August 26th. Both will be taken place at the Showa Academia Musica. Here is the list of finalists' names, photos and profiles (in Japanese).

The Yasuko Fukuda Scholarship Audition has been held every 2 years since 2003, aiming at discovery and encouragement of young talented pianists under 17 years old. Individual lesson will be conducted by the following 3 oversea renowned professors; James Anagnoson (Dean of The Glenn Gould School)/ Hortense Cartier-Bresson (Professor of Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris) / Henri Sigfriedsson (professor of Folkwang Universität der Künste in Essen) . Final result will be considered by those 3 professors and 4 Japanese representatives (executive members of The Yasuko Fukuda Foundation). The scholarship is obliged to use exclusively for studying abroad, and will be given to the winner as well as other successful participants in various ways.
