20161104_PTNAtop.jpg"PTNA Ensemble Park" will be held on March 4th-5th 2017, which would enhance exchanging and communicating with fellow piano teachers. 3 lecture sessions on the 1st day and 3 exchanging programs will be scheduled on the 2nd day.

The 1st session will be about the role of ensemble. Piano is not only for those who play it well, but also for those who enjoy playing with others, either family or friends, regardless of their ages, backgrounds, or previous experiences. Noriko Ohmura, the lecturer who has published a score for "duo with family members", will provide ideas of various styles of ensemble as one of the tools of communication.
The 2nd session will be about the physical preparation for ensemble. The role of pianist in ensemble is not only an "accompanist". Then, how do you make the ensemble performance more thrilling and exciting? Akira Naito will show ideas through demonstration performances.
The 3rd session will be about nurturing collaborative mind through a group workshop, "Lesson Review". The participants will be divided into several groups, and discuss, think, and solve issues shared among the group members. After all the sessions, participants will exchange freely at reception party.

The 2nd day will begin with the PTNA entry guidance; explanation about PTNA Piano Competition, STEP, Seminars, Piano Encyclopedia, other activities, and PTNA branch offices and satellite Stations across the nation.
The rest of the day will be the opportunity for thinking about effective teaching, through the "Teaching Carte" excercise. The participants will move to the adjacent hall where PTNA Piano STEP will be going on, listen to several performances and write comments as if they were advisers. Afterward, they will bring them back and discuss their awareness and propositions about teaching, performance, etc. Some of the Station representatives will join them and give advices. After the sessions, all the participants will get together again and share what they would learn.
This 2-day-program as a whole will envision and embody the idea of "ensemble".
