PTNA Pianists will Express Their World of Nature in LFJ 2016!

image.jpegLa Folle Journee au Japon will be held from the 3rd to 5th of May in Tokyo, with the theme of "Nature and Music".  A number of PTNA members will perform at main concerts or area concerts (Marunouchi area). 

Takashi Obara will appear at the Soirée Concert on 5th, with repertoires chosen from pieces frequently requested at his radio program (NHK-FM). He has been offering charity concerts in the areas hit by the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, and this concert is supposed to replay one in Tokyo.  

Young promising pianists, including PTNA grand prize winners and Yasuko Fukuda Prize winners, will also appear. Law Matthew and Mizuho Nakada will play Messiaen's "Plainte Calme""Un reflets dans le vent" from Preludes, "Regards de l'esprit de joie" from "Vingt Regards sur l'enfant Jesus", and 1 piece from Iberia by Albeniz.

Duo performances are always popular. This time, 6 duo members will interpret their world of nature. Yuhi Ozaki and Keina Sato, both former Grand Prize winners and the former students of the Hannover University of music and drama, will play Rachmaninov's Rhapsody on the theme of Paganini. Ichiro Kaneko and Kyoko Kaise, both former Grand Prize winners, will play Debussy's "l'apres-midi d'un faune". Ayumi Iga and Masatoshi Yamaguchi will perform Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" with Ravina's arrangement.

Several ensemble groups are formed to play beautiful ensemble works such as "The Winter" from Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Dvorak's piano quintet, Haydn's string quartet Op.50-6 "The Frog", etc.  

In addition, PTNA recently had a special audition and 11 players/ groups were chosen to play.
