Advanced skills in music making and advanced technology meet in March.

Ichiro Kaneko, the 2005 PTNA Grand Prize winner, will give a lecture on the music analysis of the required repertoires of 2013 PTNA Piano Competition. He is one of the authors of the booklets of music analysis that we publish annually for the preparation of the competition. He is well known for his well-balanced and in-depth music making.

What makes this lecture further remarkable is that he will use "piaScore" application to show the scores on ipad tablet, write notes and share them simultaneously with other ipad users (=>see demonstration video). It will reveal in which way and what order he analyse the music, that would help audience understand the story lines that he describes and reviews them afterward.

This new application is invented by a software developer, Hiroyuki Koike (CEO of plus-add,Inc.). He, playing piano by himself, has wanted to create the future image of music score that helps performers/ learners / teachers share musical knowledge and interpretations broadly and efficiently.

A piano teacher, Noriyuki Miyazawa (PTNA trustee) recently started to use "piaScore" and found tremendous potentials for using it in piano lessons. He expects it will encourage students to listen to variety of audio clips, compare different editions, etc., and also will reshape the teaching environment.
