ptna_20170928top.jpgPTNA was established 50 years ago for the purpose of supporting and promoting Japanese compositions. This is still one of the major missions of PTNA today. Since 2016, PTNA has been organizing an event, in collaboration with The Japan Federation of Composers Inc. (JFC) which encourages children and teachers to learn directly from living composers. The 3rd edition will be held in the end of January 2018.

Naoto Omasa, composer, comments on the event as follows.
"What does it mean to 'read scores'? Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann, Chopin..., all the composers have their own ways of writing. Although we cannot ask them anymore, you might be able to hear the voices of living composers and to understand how they write music if you attend this event. You may gain insight into reading scores."

The event will be held on January 27th in Tokyo. 10 composers will teach you how to interpret their own works. Here is the list of the lecturers; Ryuji Toyozumi, Kenji Nishizawa, Sayuri Nakamura, Takemi Mochizuki, Hiroaki Takaba, Mai Fukazawa (solo pieces), Toyono Suzuki, Ayako Nakamura, Atsushi Takeuchi (Duo pieces).

Those composers will also be present in the upcoming event "To Children - Dream", organized by JFC on February 12th, in which 28 composers will play their own pieces. All works will be published by Kawai Publishing.
