20141010_arrangements.jpgPTNA invites you to arrange famous classical music or popular pieces. The arrangement should be for piano solo, and you can select one or two pieces among the chosen repertoires such as Bach's Air on the G String and Chopin's Nocturne Op.9-2 (>see the list), and choose the degree of difficulty ; elementary, intermediate and advanced levels. For the elementary level, you can use two sharps and two flats (tonality), from whole notes to eighth notes (note values), 36-52 staves (length), and is as easy as Beyer Method. The intermediate level is equivalent to 25 etudes of Burgmüller or 30 etudes of Czerny, and the advanced level is more difficult than 40 etudes of Czerny.

The deadline is March 6th and sound test will be on April 12th 2015, with performance and presentation by arrangers themselves. Applicants must be over 18 years old as of April 1st, 2015. The jury members are Tomoko Sadohara (piano teacher, arranger), Nami Suzuki (composer and arranger), Koishi Hashimoto (composer and arranger), and Aya Okazaki (deputy chief editor of "Monthly Piano" magazine). The award-winning pieces will be featured on the magazine "Monthly Piano", and published at Print Piano and Musse (on-demand online score publishing service).
