The Required Repertoires of 2014 PTNA Piano Competition Announced!

20140228top.pngThe required repertoires for 2014 PTNA Piano Competition are officially announced.  The rules& regulations booklet, demonstration CDs, and musical analysis scores of chosen repertoires are now on sale!

This competition, founded in 1977, has been well known as the biggest competition in Japan in regards of its number of participants and the range of levels, from kids to adults including amateur pianists. There are several amendments and improvements every year so that everyone can learn and enjoy piano by participating the competition. Click here for the amendments in 2014.

On March 3rd,  the special seminar was held in Tokyo to show how to do the in-depth study of four periods from Baroque to Modern. Shohei Sekimoto, 2002 PTNA Grand prize winner, served as one of the lecturers and gave brilliant demonstration performance and explanation on selected pieces from grade A2 (under 6) to D(under 14).  Sekimoto won the 4th prize at Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw in 2005 and had been studying in New York for 3 years until last year.
