110401_winnersconcert.jpgPTNA Prize Winners' Special Concert will be held in Osaka on April 30th. It will replace the concert in Tokyo which was recently cancelled due to the earthquake.

The program consists of two parts; I.solo performances by 12 pianists and II. solo and duo performances. The performers will be the winners of grade A1 (under 8) to grade superior (no age limit) in the solo division, and three winners of duo division of 2010 PTNA Piano Competition. Among them, Tomoyo UMEMURA (the Grand Prize winner) will appear in both parts, where she will play Bach=Busoni's Chaconne, Chopin Nocturne op.9-2 and Ballade op.23.

Herewith, Ms.Umemura addresses a message.
"First I would like to express deep condolences to the people who are suffering from the earthquake. After the cancellation of winners' concert in Tokyo, we have been thinking what we can do now, and anticipate that we would like to do something through music. This time thanks to the PTNA branches in Osaka, the winners' concert will be held in Osaka Phoenix Hall. We would like to play music wholeheartedly, while praying for the rapid recovery and the better future of Japan. We wish the music would be a light of hope.."
