lesson_2010winter.jpgPTNA Lesson tour, started in 2009, will begin its 4th session from the beginning of December. 15 piano teachers across Japan will host fellow teachers to their lesson studios. Due to the limited number of the acceptance, there will be drawing after the deadline on November 20th.

In the past three sessions, 46 piano teachers and professors had hosted junior / younger colleagues to their studios. It is based on the idea that teachers could learn further by observing senior teachers who have rich experiences, and by sharing thoughts and ideas with other colleagues. Therefore, the curriculum consists of two parts; 2 hours demonstration lessons and 30 min discussion.

lesson_honda.jpgMs.Makiko Honda (Hyogo) appears for the first time as a hosting teacher. Based on her belief that "every student can change whatever problem they have", she will give demonstration lessons to elementary school pupils, to show how important to enjoy the sounds they make and to express their feelings.

lesson_fukaya.jpgProf.Naohito Fukaya (Aichi) will also focus on the lessons to little kids in which he addresses two disciplines;  combination of expression and technique, and effective way of practice. His idea is to make them be accustomed to sufficient quality and quantity of practice from earlier stage, so that they will be able to cope with bigger repertoires in the future.

Ms.Sae Matsuda (Kyoto) uses handmade textbook based on the Russian piano techniques, whereas Ms.Ikuko Ogura (Tochigi) will show the integrated program including piano, theory, solfege and ensemble. Ms.Aya Murai (Hiroshima) will demonstrate group lessons for the children under 3 years old.

lesson_kaneko.jpgSome teachers appear second time in this lesson tour program. Prof.Katsuko Kaneko (Tokyo), who has taught many students who became professional pianists, will more focus on the lessons for young talented pianists. Prof.Motoko Nakata (Osaka) will teach flexible body and finger movements and efficient techniques for adults and amateurs.
