Two major events for promoting young talents

Two major events to promote young talents, PTNA Piano Competition and Yasuko Fukuda Scholarship Audition, are waiting for their final stage at the end of August. Tickets will be available online from July 31st (non-membership).

The Special grade of PTNA Piano Competition will have its semi-final round (solo recital) on August 20th, and final round on 23rd (concerto) both at Daiichi Seimei Hall, Tokyo. Finalists will play concerti with Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Chikara Iwamura.

International stages have been offered for the past grand prize winners, recitals in Italy, France, England, Germany, etc.

After the competition, 4th Yasuko Fukuda Scholarpship Audition will be held on August 25th-26th (lesson audition) and 28th (final recital) in Tokyo. Three international professors, Nikolai A.Petrov, Joaquin Soriano, Dina Yoffe, will give lessons for each of the 9 candidiates and will serve as adjudicators at the final recital. This audition was established to discover promising young talents and provide them opportunity to study abroad. So far, Shohei Sekimoto (4th prize in Chopin 2005), Rina Sudo (5th prize in Dublin 2006), Hibiki Tamura (1st in Long-Thibaud 2007) etc. received prizes.
