PTNA starts introducing teachers who give professional advices to candidates of Teachers' License Program, the former Teachers' Examination.

One of the registered teachers, Yukiko Watanabe (left, The representative of Hibiya-Dream Station), has already taught 28 candidates, who passed all the categories and levels of examinations required for the license. According to her, each examination has objectives and goals, e.g., both performance and teaching examinations require the sufficient understanding of pieces and key elements for teaching them.

Successful candidates expand their careers afterward, such as taking leadership positions in local areas, becoming committee members or jury members of competitions, receiving teaching awards, etc.  One of her students and a successful candidates, Erimi Tsuchimochi (The representative of Chiba-Asumigaoka Station) has already completed all the license exams.  She asked Watanabe for advices before taking the advanced level exam in order to review her own performance and teaching style objectively, and successfully passed it with highest score.

It is not only for experienced teachers, but also for those who have possibilities to become teachers in the future or simply to encourage the process of music making.  Yoko Deguchi, a freshman in the politics department at Doshisha University, took part in the license program on her teacher's recommendation, Naomi Ishii. She has not decided her future career yet, but license program would help her to have multiple choices after graduation, either to work in the business industry or to work as a piano teacher. In the process of studying for the exam, she learnt how to teach kids in an appropriate way, and now she has one regular student.

Teachers' Lisence exam is a complehensive program that includes teaching exam, performance exam, writing exam, lesson observation, seminar participation, etc. Most of the exams use required repertoires of PTNA Piano Competition or PTNA Piano STEP.
